Connecting to a VPN server through a device running on Bada OS is easy and needs you to follow some simple steps. A stepwise guide to help you connect to a PPTP VPN connection through your device is given below.

  • To begin with the setup of a PPTP VPN connection, you need to start from home, where you need to tap on the ‘menu’ icon to open it.
  • In the menu, look for the ‘settings’ option and tap on it to open the settings page.
  • On the ‘settings’ page, tap on the ‘connectivity’ option, wherein you need to find and tap on the ‘VPN’ option to get access to the VPN related settings for the setup of a connection.
  • On the ‘VPN’ menu, you will get a list of VPN connections available for your device, while, you need to add a new VPN connection that can be configured to be used with your PPTP VPN service. Tap on the ‘new’ button provided at the bottom of the screen to initiate the process of creating a new connection.
  • Next, you need to choose the type of protocol for the new connection, where you should tap on the ‘PPTP VPN’ option for a PPTP connection.
  • Now, you will get the configuration screen, where you need to enter the configuration details for your subscribed VPN service and save them to be used by the connection.
  • You will see a number of fields on the configuration screen, which are to be filled with desired values. The first field labeled as ‘Name’ needs to be filled with a desired name for the VPN connection that you can use for an easy recognition at a later stage.
  • In the field named ‘VPN Server’, enter the value of the IP address of the server, which you want to connect through this connection. You will get the value of the server’s IP address in the welcome mail from your VPN provider or by logging in to your customer area.
  • The next fields are labeled as ‘username’ and ‘password’, where you are required to input the values for the log in credentials of your VPN service. These values are also given in the welcome mail that you have received from your VPN provider after registering for the service.
  • Make sure that the ‘Encryption’ is set to disable and then tap on the ‘save’ button at the bottom of the screen to save these settings.
  • Now, you will see the name of the VPN connection that you created, in the ‘VPN’ menu.
  • Tap on the name of the connection to initiate the connection process. You will get a message saying ‘trying to connect’ that will change to ‘connected’, after the connection has been established.
  • A key at the top bar and the ‘connected’ status along with the name of the VPN connection indicate a successful connection.

Thus, with this guide, you are now able to configure your Bada OS based device to connect to a PPTP VPN server.
